NASHVILLE BEHIND THE SCENES PART FOUR

Today, I get to take you ON THE STAGE at The Grand Ole Opry. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Nashville.

Don’t forget…

NASHVILLE SEASON 4

Starts this Wednesday September 23rd on CHCH.

Did you know that the wooden circle on the Opry stage is originally from the Ryman Auditorium? It was brought to The Grand Ole Opry in 1974. While I was there I was lucky enough to stand on that circle. I’m still kicking myself for the fact that I didn’t sing something while I was standing there. I did get to play a few piano keys though. You’ll get to see that in my segment.

In the picture below you can see that I’m walking through the pews in the auditorium. These pews mimic the pews from the Ryman Auditorium that was built in 1892.

I was actually surprised at how small The Opry felt. The auditorium fits 4,400 people and it seems so much smaller with the lights turned on. Of course when the house is packed it looks MUCH MUCH different. You can see that everything is roped off on stage… My camera man Jeff and I got to go behind the rope :).
NASHVILLE SEGMENT FOUR- OPRY STAGE

I thought it was really cool to see the SAME set that so many scenes from Nashville were filmed on. The Grand Ole Opry Stage had it’s traditional ‘Barn’ set that you would have seen on the show.
