This Tuesday I’m sharing some outdoor lights that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. I mean seriously… a little bit of privacy, a little bit of mood lighting and BAM you’re set for an outdoor party.

When you say ‘Icicle lights’ most people think of Christmas decor. Well hey, at least I do ok?! I’m PUMPED UP for Christmas already and it’s not even summer yet.

Most of you have summer on the brain which means, patios, beaches, outdoors, summer nights and these are the PERFECT lights for entertaining.

K… I know this sounds like  I sell these things but I don’t.

I personally think these would be super cute for an outdoor patio or balcony. What about you? Let me know in the comments below. I always love hearing from you.

Check back tomorrow for the start of ‘ROOM ENVY’.

Jaclyn Colville CHCH DIY

What you’ll need:

  • Glue Gun
  • Glue
  • Drill
  • Drill Bit (That’s the same size as your light bulb)
  • 9 oz Clear Solo Cups

How  to make a sparkle dome or ball:

  1. Stack about 4 or 5 cups on top of eachother (This saves time).
  2. Now use your drill to drill a hole right in the middle of each of the cups.
  3. Place a dab of glue at the bottom of the cup and attach it to another cup. (The opening should face outward).
  4. Repeat.
  5. Move onto the second layer (as shown in video) and repeat.
  6. Poke your LED Lights through the holes. Plug them in and …
  7. Voila!

What can I do with my sparkle dome or ball?

  • Hang it from the ceiling
  • Hang it on a wall
  • Use it as a centrepiece
  • Use it in your garden in the summer
  • Put Christmas balls inside the cups to amp it up
  • Spray paint the cups before adding the lights for a different look

DIY Pillows

Well, it’s that time of year again… patio season! Is your patio ready? Do you have some old patio chairs that could use a bit of a tune up? Some colour? I’ve got the perfect solution: a new pillow! Don’t have the money for new pillows!? Why not make them.

This week I made 2 patio pillows. I purchased a metre of fabric for just $8.00 at Fabric Land and I just happened to have 2 old pillows that needed a makeover. What you'll need- Pillows2

Here’s my DIY Patio Pillow Tutorial:
